HANGBoY?
The mischievous character who turns reality upside down, sprung to life on any medium that was readily available to him. In his infancy, Hangboy could be found defiling himself on napkins, notebook pages, whiteboards, and even beach sand. Since then he has matured (a little) and can be found immortalized on more formal media such as full color prints and sculptures. In fact, one of his favorite pass times is finding new media through which he can communicate. In every situation, Hangboy’s message is clear: “Let’s play!”, as he never takes life too serious.
The Hangboy character enables me to portray reality from a satirical point of view that I feel is often lacking in today’s society. I like to question the status quo and put a humorous, if not dark and mysterious spin on the situation. Hangboy is an easy character to relate to and simple enough to be applied to almost any situation/theme in a wide variety of artistic styles. He wants you to hang out with him and take life with a grain of salt. I hope you enjoy his quirky perspective on life as much as I love creating him.
